2016 Art Sale

It has been awhile since I brought you up to date with a  messageon my Blog about my drawings and paintings.

I did several commissions which went well, however in June of 2015 my Art work took a back seat due to some health issues, which took approximately eight months to recuperate.

At the present time I have completed two pen and pencil drawings, which are
Mt. Balfour and Mt. Lefroy.  Completed one acrylic painting which is “Early
Fall Larches Below Mt. Biddle” with beautiful fall colors.

My next acrylic painting will be Mt. Assiniboine and I hope to have another
acrylic of a tarn in the Esplanade, if time permits, I am planning to have another
pen and pencil drawing of Mt. Sir Donald.

The Cochrane Art Club, have their Spring Art Sale which is being held at the Ranche House on April 30 – May 01, 2016.

The Foothills Art Club, have their Spring Art Sale on April 9th, 2016 at St. Andrew’s United Church.

Look forward seeing you at both Art Sales.

Spring 2015

It has been just over a year since I posted a message to my Blog.  After the spring of 2014 Art Shows I was commissioned to do several Paintings and Drawings of which kept me busy through the summer.

In mid June of last summer over 300 relatives and friends help me celebrate my 80th Birthday.  It was quite an occasion.

During the summer of 2014 we spent a week in the Mt. Assiniboine area hiking and taking many pictures of the surrounding area.  In the fall we spent a week in the Lake O’Hara area photographing a new selection of photos to paint for this years Art Shows.

The first Art Show in 2015 will be the Foothills Art Club being held on April 11th. at the Alliance Church in Cochrane and the second Art Show will be the Cochrane Art Club Show & Sale being held May 2nd and 3rd at the Ranche House in Cochrane.  On Saturday morning all the paintings will be included in a Silent Auction closing at 12:00 Noon.

There are three new Paintings on my website, Lake O’Hara, Divinely (Lonely Tree), and Ski Country.  Last year a new Drawing was added of Mt. Athabasca and shortly I will be adding drawings of the Grand Sentinal and next will be Mt. Forbes.  My next painting for the Art Show of which I am working on is Larch Valley in Fall colors.

Looking forward seeing you at the upcoming Art Shows.

Keep enjoying the outdoors.

Regards
Glen Boles

Updates & Trail Dedication

Hello everyone,
A lot of water has gone under the bridge since our last blog and we would like to wish everyone good health and great happiness for 2014.

I have continued selling my pen and pencil prints and have recently sold out of my Mt. Hungabee and Mt. Temple and North Face drawings but have 2 new ones coming soon to my website called Mt. Hungabee and North Face and Deltaform Mtn.

I have been selling quite a few gyclees lately with the Palliser Range being one of the most popular since most residences of Cochrane can see them from their homes.

As well I have been painting steadily on new acrylics and doing pen and pencil drawings for the April and May’s Art Shows, hopefully you can come and check them out.

And for those of you who haven’t heard, I was surprised and honoured on November 29, 2013 that the Town of Cochrane named one of their local trails after me, “Glen Boles Trail”.  I have placed some pictures and newspaper article clips from the event on my website under the dedication page.

Please continue to check my website for new artwork.

Regards,
Glen Boles
