Happy Holidays

I am just going to give you an uptodate summary of the Art work that was completed during 2012.

For the Cochrane Art Club Spring Show, I entered four large Acrylics Paitings and two 11" x 14" Pen & Pencil Drawings which were all sold.

During the Summer I usually don't do any Art work however I was fortunate enough to complete five commissed pieces, with two more to finish.

Limited Edition Prints of the following, Mt. Hungabee, Mt. Temple North Face and Castle Mountain which are on my website are now Sold Out.

At the end of September we participated in the Outdoor Art Show put on by the ACFC and then in November we shared a Booth at the Banff Mountain Film Festival.  Our last show took place on December 1 & 2 at the Ranche House, at all these events we Sold Limited Edition Prints, Acrylic Art and  "My Mountain Album" Books and "Canadian Mountain Place Names", this event was also sponsored by the ACFC.

Earlier this month I gave an illustrated talk and showed slides of climbing around the Columbia Icefields and the areas between the Icefields and Jasper at the Boothby Library.  Since it was a Sell Out we will be repeating the Show again on the 26th of January 2013.

I will look forward to seeing you at the Cochrane Art Club Show May 4 & 5, 2013 at the Ranche House.

WISHING YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A FABULOUS 2013.

Compliments of the Season

Wishing you all a "Merry Christmas" and all the best in the "New Year".

Just recently we have added two new Limited Edition Drawings to my Website, they are "Castle Mountain" and "Mt. Forbes".  The drawing of Castle Mountain was drawn from a photo taken from the summit of Pilot Mt.
The Mt. Forbes drawing is a view of the South Side of the Peak looking from Coronation Mountain.  Mt. Forbes is the fifth highest Peak in the Canadian Rockies, located West of Saskatchewan Crossing.

This fall I teamed up with Chic Scott and shared a double booth at the Banff Mountain Film Festival.  We had a very successful weekend, selling books and prints.  My six new Limited Edition prints were all 11" x 14"(image size) of Mt. Temple (North Face), Mt. Blane, Mt. Hungabee, Mt. Assiniboine, Mt. Forbes, Castle Mountain and they all sold well at $25.00 each.

I would like to take this opportunity at this time to thank everyone who has purchased my paintings, prints and books this past year.

I have started drawing and painting for the upcoming Art Shows taking place this Spring of 2012.  Will keep you posted as to when the Spring Art Shows are taking place.

UP TO DATE NEWS

I must apologize for not keeping everyone better informed on my Blog.

First I would like to mention that I have two new limited edition pen & pencil prints, which will appear on my Website shortly.  They will be Mt. Temple North Face and Mt. Assiniboine, the image size for both of these will be 11" x 14".

In July Liz & myself spent several days in the Bugaboos, hoping to get some new and different photographs to work from, however the weather did not co-operate, since we had lots of  rain and snow but still had a good time.

I have just completed an acrylic 18" x 24"painting of the Vowell Glacier and the Bugaboos, this should be on my Website shortly.

Hopefully, I will be able to keep everyone better informed on my Blog from now on.

If anyone wishes to have a drawing or a painting commissioned for themselves, family or friend,  I would appreciate hearing from you.

Regards,
Glen

Starting a New Year 2011

Where has January gone, it's hard to believe that we are already in February.  However, I have been spending the winter painting and skiing.

I have just completed a pen and pencil sketch of Mt. Blane in the Kananaskis Country and an 18" x 24" acrylic painting of a trail on Opabin Plateau.  These have not been entered on my website as yet however they will be installed at a later date when I finish several more pieces.

I am now working on a pen and pencil sketch of Mt. Hungabee and have started an acrylic 18" x 24" of the Ramparts in the Tonquin Valley.

I have been receiving several phone calls as to where some of my work is being displayed, at the present time you can visit High Country Art Gallery, 119 First Avenue West, in Cochrane.  This will be added to my website.

Cheers,
Glen
