Leaving Sunday for Lake O'Hara

Early Sunday morning Liz and myself will be leaving to catch the bus to Lake O'Hara.

We are booked in for 6 days from Sep 19-24.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate so that we can get some more fall slides and do some hiking.

We'll update you when we return.

Quick Trip to Waterton

On Aug 27-29 we made a quick trip to Waterton with friends.

On Friday, the 27th, Liz and I picked up Peter and Ursula Jungen and headed down highway 22 to the Waterton National Parks area.

We arrived in time for supper at a friend's cabin north of the park overlooking the Waterton River. After a rustic supper, we went for a short hike to look over the countryside.

The rustic cabin is located in a very scenic spot just off Highway 6.

The following day five of us drove into the park and then up to Cameron Lake to the trailhead for our hike up to Summit Lake. From Summit Lake we hiked up to the pass east of Mount Carthew.

The weatehr had been good to this point, then it slowly deteriorated in the late afternoon on our way back to Cameron Lake.

Back at the cabin it was Liz and my turn to make supper. After a healthy supper we all sat around and chewed the fat.

During the night the rain really came on with a resounding noise on the metal roof.

Then we woke up to new snow on the surrounding peaks and hills. And we left just after leaving the cabin spick and span.
